Biography

Born in Biloxi, Mississippi USA, Gwen Dickey was the voice of Rose Royce. She had an amazing period of success from the late 1970s to the early 1980s with 3 platinum selling albums with classic hits as: "Car Wash" (1976), "Do Your Dance" (1977), "Wishing On A Star" (1978) or "Is It Love You're After" (1979).

Gwen Dickey has since embarked on a solo career and she enjoyed her first success when she joined forces with "KWS" on Chaka Khan's classis hit: "Ain't Nobody" (1994).

Gwen Dickey had released a new single. This time she teamed up with the international rap artist Jay-Z for a brand new version of the Rose Royce hit "Wishing On A Star", released on the North-West Side label. She is back in the charts in the UK, Germany and Scandinavia. Later the single was released in the USA and South America. Gwen's new vocals sound just as great as ever and she returns to her familiar position as one of the world's leading soul vocalists.
